The Bruss facility in Sligo is a busy and intricate production site that manufactures components for leading car brands. The current FireCell system was designed by VRF and installed by a local service provider early 2013, the system design complied with the 2009 standards (the 2013 standard was released in December of that year).
The FireCell wireless fire detection system was integrated with essential services throughout the plant including; Fire Suppression, Fire Shutters, Access Control, Air Intake Fans.
In 2017, significant building works were undertaken by Bruss and VRF worked with nominated the consulting engineers to design modifications that brought the L1 system up to IS 3218(2013) standards.
Due to the flexibility of wireless, VRF were able to recommend a programme of works that ensured no system downtime and no impact to busy manufacturing operations.
